Mazal tov to Daliya Gerson on her bat mitzvah this Shabbat! Mazal tov as well to her parents, Rabbi Jordan and Becky Gerson, and her siblings, Ashira, Nessa and Yishai!
Mincha, Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv will be at 6pm tonight, led by Karen Kern (on guitar) and me. We'll be welcoming several Jewish girl scouts (with their parents) tonight for Girl Scout Shabbat--come join us to welcome them and welcome Shabbat!
Tonight, candle lighting is at 6:51pm.
Tomorrow morning, we'll begin at 9am, with much to celebrate Daliya's bat mitzvah, including kiddush following services.
We'll be reading Parashat Pekudei, the last parashah (portion) of the book of Exodus.
Shabbat ends at 7:49pm.
There is no KoREH on Sunday morning, for spring break.
Sunday night (3/17) is our Green Purim Bash! It's too late to register, but you can still come and pay at the door. Hope to see you--it'll be a blast!
The next meeting of our Grief Havurah, led by Rabbi Jessica Shafrin, will be on Wednesday, March 20 at 6:30pm. All are welcome.
Thursday, March 21 is Taanit Esther, the fast of Esther. If you remember the story of Esther, before going to plead her case before Achashverosh, Esther fasts, and asks the other Jews to fast too. Taanit Esther is usually the day right before Purim, but this year, because Purim is Saturday night and Sunday, and because we usually don't fast either on Saturday or Friday, the fast is advanced to Thursday. It's a daytime fast, from 5:39am until 7:42pm. We'll have minyan in person with Torah reading at 7am Thursday morning, and minyan on Zoom at 6pm with Torah and Haftarah.
And Purim is obviously coming too! All the Purim details are here. We're having a kiddush-like Purim Seudah (meal) on the (Sunday) morning of Purim-- let us know you're coming so we can be sure to have enough food!

Every Shabbat morning, we are still reciting a prayer for the State of Israel, a prayer for Israel Defense Forces soldiers, and a prayer for hostages.
