Dear Kol Rinah Family,

As the situation in Israel and Gaza continues with little good news for anyone, some of us may be looking for other ways of engaging and learning. If we had a congregant-led Israel-themed book group at Kol Rinah, would you be interested? Imagine it met after kiddush one Saturday very six weeks or so. If you'd be interested, let me know.
This Saturday evening, February 10 from 7-9pm, musician, filmmaker, writer and teacher Alicia Jo Rabins (profiled in the St. Louis Jewish Light) will be at Kol Rinah for Havdalah and an evening of music and storytelling. She'll be here as part of a whole weekend spent in St. Louis. We'll have wine and snacks and a fun evening for adults. Thank you to Gina Bernstein and Rachel Weinhaus for helping to organize. Even if you didn't RSVP, it's ok to come!
Turning to this Shabbat, candle lighting tonight is at 5:14pm.
I'll be leading a no-instruments Kabbalat Shabbat and ma'ariv here at 6pm tonight. We've been having a lovely group on Friday nights, including, often, many kids. Come join us!
Tomorrow morning, services begin at 9am. It's Shabbat Rosh Chodesh (Adar 1), so services will include Hallel.
Karen Kern will lead a singing Torah Talk at about 10:15am.
I'll be speaking about some Jewish perspectives on reproductive rights and abortion, as part of "Repro Shabbat," a project of NCJW.
